Bayfield Festival of Arts 2016

Last weekend I participated in my first big art fair, the Bayfield Festival of Arts, which features artists that are inspired by and use materials from Lake Superior and the Chequamegon Bay area.  This was a proud moment for me, as challenging myself to participate in this show had motivated me to really dive into making jewelry and make a business out of it in the first half of this year.

Storms in the previous week had caused flood damage that closed many of the roads leading into Bayfield, leading to what I understand was lighter than normal attendance.  Still, I sold a few things and we had beautiful weather for nearly the whole show.  It was located right on the waterfront with great views of the bay, calm water, and sailboats tied up in the marina.

Afterwards, I stayed on Madeline Island and had some time to visit the beach and pick up a few stones for some future projects.

Botanical necklaces

Oxidized copper and silver jewelry that mimic leaves, seeds, and flowers in nature.  Hand-forged and accented with freshwater pearls.

My work is available for purchase on Etsy or in Woods Hall in La Pointe, WI, or at Stone’s Throw in Bayfield, WI.

Form-fold jewelry

Necklaces and bracelets that feature forged and folded copper and silver.

My work is available for purchase on Etsy or in Woods Hall in La Pointe, WI, or at Stone’s Throw in Bayfield, WI.

One-of-a-kind beach stone necklaces

Quartz, agate, glass, terra cotta – all kinds of interesting items found on the beaches of Madeline Island.  Riveted or bezel-set in sterling silver, some are accented with cubic zirconia or freshwater pearls.
